Festa della Primavera

Festa della Primavera

Julie Jurden

Warmer weather has us feeling ready for outdoor activities with family and friends. Although we are still in the midst of the pandemic, the end feels so close we can almost smell it. It is still very important to practice safety and social distancing, but it's time to spend some time outside! While international travel still may not be in the cards, we are dreaming of heading to Italy. The Festa della Primavera, or Spring Festival, is the perfect way to kick off the season!

Spring and the beginning of summer offer the most stunning flower festivals in Italy. Starting in March and lasting throughout the month of April, the celebration “Festa della Primavera” almost every town in Italy offers locals and tourists streets covered with gorgeous, multicolored flowers, regional fare made to resemble flowers and some actually made of flowers themselves.

While visitors and townspeople alike stroll and share in the fragrant, charming celebrations today, they can also enjoy a taste of spring as well! The streets of each Italian town are filled with stands and activities to celebrate the spring and the summer, with live music, street food and many activities for the whole family. Primavera
