Next morning we walk to the bus spot. We speak to the fellow in charge who indicates that we can go to Amalfi but not via Positano, which is on the way, however we can come back from Amalfi to Positano. We find this a bit confusing but decide to go ahead for the 9 a.m. bus. According to the bus schedule there is a 9, 9:15, 9:30 and 10 bus to Amalfi. Apparently ours covered all four, leaving at...

Flexibility and a Sense of Humor (cont)

Back at the wonderful Hotel Regina, two Proseccos are in order! We went shopping in Sorrento after relaxing a bit, enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Caruso’s (www.ristorantemuseocaruso.com) another lucky find, and to bed in anticipation of Pompei in the morning.

Alarm goes off amidst a driving rain and wind event. Hmm. Sleep in, and explore some more in the area instead after the rain passes before heading back to Rome to fly home. Pompei will be another time.

As we put this adventure in Italy behind us, I can hardly wait for the next one! 

                                     Christmas in October

Today I heard my first Christmas commercial on television(ahhh) but of course items are everywhere in stores and online. We are shipping Christmas in October to one of our great online vendors but here at Modigliani, our minds are on Halloween and Thanksgiving first! Fall offers so many great opportunities for fun with friends, family and neighbors. Don’t miss these moments as the leaves change and we transition to the holiday season!

 Tuscan Dinner

In honor of the Festival of Lanterns in Italy, our friends at the Culinary Center in Overland Park hosted a five course dinner for 64 Tuscan style! Complete with a chandelier, lanterns and one very long table, guests were served a fabulous meal with wine pairings all on Modigliani pottery. Chef Sandy DiGiovanni teamed up with our partner Stefano to produce a true Italian evening. For more information about the Culinary Center go to www.kcculinary.com.

                                              FIRST FRIDAY 

Beginning with the wall of plates and ending with our beautiful dining room table we have transformed our studio and celebrated by having our 1st First Friday event in September. Our special thanks to the KC Culinary Center for providing fabulous bruschetta options to sample and our wine tasting guru that shared three wines from Italy that were delicious. While the rain kept some from touring the Crossroads, we were happy they stayed with us and enjoyed the evening! We appreciate all who came and welcomed our Italian partner to Kansas City!
